PROGRAM

 

Day 1: Cusco - Cachora - Chikisca
Approx. 4h00 am. We will pick you up at hotel and travel four hours by bus to Cachora, While the group is having breakfast the team will arrange the horses with the luggage.
Today we will walk 22 km, foreground, and then down to where it is observed Chikiska of the Apurimac River, the main tributary of the Amazon River. 1550 Camp m.s.n.m.

Day 2: Chikiska - Santa Rosa
After an early breakfast start climbing towards Choquequirao, galled at 3 pm. We explored the ruins after arrival. The view of the canyon is spectacular and it is possible to see condors flying. Camping at Choquequirao, 3033 m.s.n.m.

Day 3: Santa Rosa - Choquequirao - Cornfield
Today we walked uphill to the 3299 m and then descend to Rio Blanco, 1909 m. On the way we passed the ruins of Inca terracing Pinchiunuyok with. Changing rooms is breathtaking to see birds, different varieties of orchids and coca plants to 2750 m. From Rio Blanco we climb up Maizal for approx. 3 hours. 3000 Camp m.s.n.m.

Day 4: Cornfield - Yanama
From Cornfield started to rise, passing through Victoria Mine were already exploited by the Incas and then by other miners. Before reaching the pass we can see the original Inca road completely paved. We passed m.s.n.m. 4154 and finally descend to our camp at 3800 m.

Day 5: Yanama - Totora
After breakfast we start to climb slowly towards the pass is higher than 4668 meters above sea level again we have a magnificent view and are surrounded by snowy as the Sacsarayok and Padreyok. M.s.n.m. camp 3632

Day 6: Totora - Playa - Santa Teresa
This day we went down to the Rio Totora. As we are going down bird watching is more interesting especially with hummingbirds, woodpeckers and different varieties of orchids and begonias. M.s.n.m. camp 2125

Day 7: Santa Teresa - Hydroelectric - Aguas Calientes
Today we climbed the last time until 2810 m delaying approx. 3 hours from here in view of Machu Picchu is impressive. After a break we go down to the hydroelectric plant on the Urubamba River and from there we can walk to Aguas Calientes or catch the train at 4 pm Overnight at Hotel.

Day 8: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco
After an early breakfast hike to Machu Picchu, where we have a guided tour of approx. 2 hours and then have free time to explore, maybe go up to Wayna Picchu. We returned to Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Cusco.

# The support team plays hard work so that everything goes well during the walk. Mainly the carriers and cook to do the heavy lifting. It will give a tip to everyone on the last day of the walk. Important
- Choquequiraw is not a simple walk is an adventure for the above 3800 meters. The first day can be stressful for some people. Before this can have problems with altitude, must be prepared for eventualities how are you, headaches, heart palpitations, shortness of breath even vomiting.
- If you have any health problem that depends on some special attention, we recommend that you do not walk the Inca Trail because at least two days we will be outside of any care you may want.
- After marking their participation for the Inca Trail, also can not be changed. The value for the registration fee can not be returned, as this insurance prior to registration.
- You must be in Cusco at least 2 days before departure date to the Inca Trail. This just to confirm their presence and also to make a basic acclimatization before starting the walk.
- During the trip the program may be modified if natural events, political and technical or forced, but always follow the idea proposed program.
- Everything that you do not take the Inca Trail can be left at our office in Cusco or the Hotel. Since our office has a warehouse.
- To travel to Peru is not necessary to travel with a passport, but recommend that you carry.
