MACHUPICCHU BY CAR 2D/ 1N
FIRST DAY :
The
departure will start at 7:30 am after gathering the pass angers from the
respective hotels. We begin the tour enjoying the beautiful scenery of the
area where we are going. After 1 hour ride, we will do a short stop in the
last part of the Sacred Valley of the Inkas in one town called
Ollantaytambo. We will be there for about 20 min. After we will continue our
trip through a winding course for the ascent the Malaga pass, which is the
high part of this circuit, located at 4,316 m.a.s.l. There we can find a
little part of the most beautiful landscapes of the Peruvian Andes, after a
brief stop, we are going to begin the descent through a completely paved
road, that way, we are going to arrive to the beginning of the jungle
through the several kind of microclimates that combine paradisiacal
landscapes of the majestic snowcapped mountain. Arriving to Alfamayo, place
where we are going to feel the warmly tropical weather of the jungle, we are
going to take a road without asphalt, until arrive to Santa Maria village
located at 1575 m. a. s .l. After a brief stop, the trip will continue until
arrive to Santa Teresa village at 2:00 pm. where we are going to get a
delicious lunch, for the satisfaction of our customers. So at 3:45 pm we are
going to return to the road toward the train station which is close to the
hydroelectric of Machupicchu. There we are going to catch the train to Aguas
Calientes town arriving at 5:30 pm. Here we’ll be placed in the respective
designated hotels, at in this interim we have free time where you can visit
the thermal baths of Aguas Calientes, at 8:00 pm we’ll enjoy a delicious
dinner. In this same moment, our responsible tour guide will provide you a
briefing for the tour in Machupicchu.
SECOND DAY :
You
will have the option to go to Machupicchu in a bus or hiking, the breakfast
will be served at 4:00 am. the tour in Machupicchu will begin at 6:00 am.
and it will last 2 hours at least. After you will have free time until
11:30am approximately recommended time to be able to take the train back
to the hydroelectric, the train departure from Aguas Calientes is at 12:30
pm. Arriving to the hydroelectric we will catch the mini bus (van) to
return to Santa Teresa where you have free time for 1 hour
approximately. So there you can get meals or use the facilities, after that
we’ll proceed the return back to Cusco taking the same route that we travel,
finally arriving to Cusco at 9:30 pm approximately.
